About me
For those, who are going to read me…
I, Ali Shahbazi, am an Iranian researcher who has graduated with a master’s degree in Political Science from Kharazmi University of Tehran. Interested in the field of Terrorism Studies and fascinated by the Philosophy of Science, I spent my undergraduate period at Shiraz University. During my Master’s program, I was recognized as a distinguished student by Kharazmi University. Gradually, due to my writings, I gained a permanent membership in Saraye Ahle Ghalam: House of Iranian Poets, Thinkers and Researchers and The Iranian Society of Cultural Studies and Communication.
When I look at the life I have lived until now, I notice that the most important questions of my life have had two axes:
1) Asking why people do violence?
2) How do they put aside morality and altruism and kill people of their own kind?
It is also important for me to ask when our propositions can provide us with correct information about the reality outside the mind or inside the mind. I have read many books on Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Consciousness, Islamic Philosophy, History of Western Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Psychoanalysis, Phenomenology, and Philosophy of Science since my undergraduate days to date in order to be able to respond to this question.
My interest in the Philosophy of Science is due to the fact that scientific knowledge is the purest one. Therefore, I always think about the nature of science. Although scientific knowledge is fluid and variable, each of its proposition that informs about the facts can be realized. In this regard, it is superior to other types of human knowledge because humans can recognize their faults and mistakes, rethink about themselves, and find new solutions.
I made a few statements about my concern in the Philosophy of Science. But why am I really interested in Terrorism Studies? My interest in Terrorism Studies is because of my interest in peace. I believe that the way to fight violence is to recognize it.
Our current world suffers from violence, which has various cases. Terrorism is the most destructive variety of violence, that is, when violence becomes a strategy. According to the obtained reports, the history of using this type of violence is rooted in ancient times. Thus, Terrorism is not a modern phenomenon and can have a history as long as human history. For this reason, I cannot rely on superficial statistics and studies to understand the phenomenon of Terrorism. Rather, I want to go deep into the human mind and observe it. To this end, studies in the field of Philosophy of Science were very useful for me. In fact, with the help of disciplines such as Phenomenology and Psychoanalysis, I have been able to obtain new achievements in the field of Terrorism Studies. I plan to publish these achievements in the form of a scientific article soon.
Until now, most of my works have been published in Persian. Now, I am trying to write and publish my new works, which are more mature than before, in English. I also welcome any requests seeking to translate my previous works.
If I were to say more about myself, I would have to mention that I have acquired a lot of skills in the field of website technologies to date. I have also introduced these skills on this website. The reason for it is that the unemployment rate of Political Science experts is high in Iran. Accordingly, I learned web technology skills to support myself and my family’s daily life. Today, one of my goals is to be able to start studying Terrorism in the form of a doctoral program abroad.
The meaning of my life is shaped by the questions I ask and the answers I provide for them. That’s why my studies are highly important to me. In fact, the purpose of my life is to respond to my questions.
In the end, it is noteworthy that although there are many economic problems in Iran today, there are also deep thinkers who should be able to provide convincing responses to basic human questions with the help of other thinkers and researchers of the world. In this way, we can enrich the great human heritage, that is, science.
A summary of my social interests:
I am highly interested in studying. Reading the works of Friedrich Nietzsche for me is like resting under an oak tree, while a pleasant breeze blows and nothing can disturb my peace.
I love walking with friends in the forest. Experience has shown that walking is the best way to think and have a scientific conversation with others.
Bodybuilding is also one of my social interests.
I also like swimming.
