About the Collapse of the Communist Government of Venezuela

The leaders of the Islamic Republic distanced themselves from the traditional thinking methods of past scholars by studying Western philosophy and turned towards critical thinking. This led them to innovate and theorize about power and governance in their field. This was a significant step that prepared them to mobilize people against the Shah of Iran and establish an ideological revolution based on Islamic philosophy. It has been over four decades since those days.

The thoughts of the founders of the Islamic Republic were a combination of Western philosophical theories, Marxist leftist ideologies, and the views of Islamic scholars on modern issues. However, this legacy did not endure. The Islamic Republic struggled in managing the country and providing public services to the people. There are many reasons for this failure, but the root of it lies in the rejection of democracy and a free press and medias. If the Islamic Republic had been able to create numerous processes for public participation in governmental affairs, and even beyond that, provided opportunities for the people to contribute based on their talents, enabling them to devise intelligent methods for monitoring power and executing government decisions, it could have benefited from a robust democracy where the people were its primary guardians.

Today, however, democracy in Iran is weak. This is dangerous for the future of the country. Many believe that democracy can be achieved through education. But the reality shows that nations suffering from hunger and daily witnessing discrimination and economic pressure cannot fully comprehend democracy. Even if they are allowed to participate in power, they may prefer to resort to violence. Everything stems from human needs. If the Islamic Republic had been able to meet basic needs through economic development, the people would have understood democracy better and could have lived well together. They would have tolerated each other and wished goodness and well-being for one another.

However, this did not happen. Poverty spread. Aristotle, the ancient Greek philosopher, considered poverty as the parent of violence and revolutions. This idea was shaped in Aristotle’s mind after studying the history of numerous nations and states, which is why it is so credible.

Unfortunately, I must say that every government has an expiration date. There comes a time when it can no longer meet the needs of its people. This is why it collapses. Nicolás Maduro’s government had fallen long ago when it submerged its people in poverty, but shortly after, the country was occupied by the United States in just half an hour. The ideology of communism has shown everywhere that it cannot bring peace and prosperity to the people. On the contrary, it has always ended in dictatorship. The Islamists who merged leftist ideologies with Islam to form the Islamic Republic must now think about eradicating communist ideas from Islam. This is because the wealthiest country in the world, Venezuela, has fallen today.

The intellectuals of the Islamic Republic must today cleanse their ideology of leftist ideas, as leftist thought no longer answers the needs of today’s human beings. Today, an intellectual movement is emerging among the people that can help increase human awareness of themselves and the world, bring prosperity, and bring peace. People are repulsed by disorder, but they are even more repelled by a government that is the source of disorder. In order to preserve the unity of Iran, the Islamic Republic must, through the gradual removal of leftist thought and focusing on the freedom of nations, liberate its people from poverty. Once poverty diminishes, then people can focus on their political and social needs—such as a just government and leadership, justice, and human compassion. A person who is caught in poverty can never think of the growth of themselves and others. The prerequisite for democracy is economic development. Without economic development, democracy leads to dictatorship. Most dictators rise to power through elections.

In any case, I hope that the leaders of the current political system in Iran can, with intelligent thinking, restore economic development to the country, and take steps towards democracy, the development of the middle class, and the support of political and cultural thinkers.

Once, a wise man said: It is not the matter that what color a cat is when it can’t catch a mouse.

All the best
